Nancy Huston was present in Calgary as a guest of honour at WordFest 2007. She is the author of more than twenty books. She received the Governor General's award in 1993 for her translation of Plainsong. She was awarded the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens for her novel Instrument des Ténèbres in 1996, and the Prix Fémina for her recent bestseller, Lignes de faille (Fault Lines), in 2006. In Canada, she has been named an Officer of the Order of Canada, and in France, she was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres
